Paolo Buffa Furniture in Wood with Decorated Panels for Reguitti

About the Item

Splendid living room furniture with bookcase shelves designed by the great designer Paolo Buffa for Permanente Cantù in the 1950s, with the collaboration of Reguitti for the decorations. The cabinet is entirely made of a beautiful light wood. At the base there are 2 front round feet, with a patinated brass plate; the two rear feet have a square shape. Going up the structure we see two large side doors and a central compartment. The two doors are in wood, with decorations obtained thanks to the collaboration of the Reguitti manufacture: we see cherry blossom branches, with flowers in bud and others already in blossom. There are two gorgeous birds depicted on the branch. Both show an unpainted stripe that creates allure; each has a slot with built-in key, in patina brass. The door on the far right houses a wooden tube for hanging clothes and coats; inside the actual door we see a metal and wood coat hanger, equipped with a mechanism for the opening and closing movement of the same. The original Permanente Cantù label is present on the door, while the Reguitti brand on the coat hanger. The other door boasts a splendid rectangular mirror with brass corners; inside is a small chest of drawers consisting of three small drawers with brass sleeves. Above there is another tube for hanging coats. Centrally we see 4 drawers suitable for storing important documents; above there is a large empty compartment, divided in two only by a shelf, totally for display. The beautiful part of the cabinet is the bookcase that stands on the far right; it is held up to the piece of furniture by means of a wooden panel applied to it on the back, typically Buffa. There are 4 large shelves, connected to the panel by iron mechanisms. The piece of furniture is splendid and suitable for real classy houses.
